Pulsed-SCOS · wearable optics
See blood flow and volume in real time.
Delian Medical is developing a wearable optical sensing system for cerebral perfusion, delivered in a portable device
Example readout from a Delian acquisition.
What Delian measures
P-SCOS
Pulsed speckle contrast optical spectroscopy measures blood flow and blood volume up to 3.5 cm into the brain.
Real time
Delian samples at 40 Hz and does not depend on the BOLD response.
Hemodynamic extraction
Left and right BFI and BVI traces are estimated live from the optical stream.
Clinical path
Delian is seeking regulatory approval as a cerebral perfusion monitoring device, built for stroke studies, surgical monitoring and post-surgery care.
One platform, many studies.
Delian uses low-intensity near-infrared light to measure blood flow and blood volume deep under the tissue surface, reported as a blood flow index (BFI) and blood volume index (BVI). It works out of the box, and its modular design adapts to a wide range of research protocols. Standardized hardware means studies run on Delian produce comparable data that can inform the next generation of portable, low-cost medical devices.
